Tailoring

final exam project

As part of the final phase of the tailoring apprenticeship in Germany, students are required to create a two-piece consisting of a blazer and either a pair of pants or a skirt. The specifications for design, materials, pattern, and needlework aree clearly outlined in advance. After planning the process and cutting the fabric for the exam, students must complete the sewing of both pieces within a 40-hour workweek. This process also includes a 30-minute interview with the exam committee, during which students present their project and respond to technical questions on related topics.
